Glam in the city sponsored by the Scottish Sun and Buchanan Galleries
A big glitzy fashion and beauty event in the heart of Glasgow that I had the misfortune of being invited to.
Upon entering on the Friday evening I was greeted with some scantily clad Vegas showgirls handing out fake us dollars (isn't there a law against that?)
for you to use in the shadow casino lounge basically a pasting table with a piece of what looked like some green felt over it a board game of roulette and a sign dangling above with some fairy lights attached yes I am being serious.
You see the thing is people had paid upwards of £15 to go to this much hyped event expecting it to be a big GLAM affair and to be honest it was pathetic and embarrassing.
Next up was the MANHATTAN BAR sponsored by November with over priced drinks and rather randomly an ice cream bar selling burgers and some very dodgy looking cupcakes that where probably bought from the Tesco along the road.It was empty there was no beauty demonstrations, fashion shows or celebrities or any entertainment whatsoever for the first two hours unless you consider some bad VEGAS style music in the background entertainment which no one seemed to and looked very bored.
So when they eventually got round to actually providing us with some entertainment it was just truly mind numbing like being at some really bad wedding the showgirls all four of them where dragged onstage and showed us how to shake our tail feathers...?? then just looked bored the rest of the night poor things as for the Burlesque show there are no words apart BAD very BAD not even little Joe Mckelldary could save this night with his one hit and a cover of Journey's Don't stop believing.
We left promptly not impressed hopefully the Saturday with Gok Wan and Miss Scotland with favour better.
