Discovery Channel's new series, Curiosity, takes viewers on a journey through life’s most thought-provoking questions. Celebrity hosts like Maggie Gyllenhaal, Robin Williams, Samuel L. Jackson, Michelle Rodriguez and Brendan Fraser will navigate questions like, “Why is sex fun?,” “How do drugs work?” and “Is there a parallel universe?"

The first episode, which premieres this Sunday, August 7 at 8 PM ET/PT, will tackle one of the biggest questions: “Did God create the universe?”, with Stephen Hawking. Hawking will guide viewers through his vision of how the universe was formed. Following the episode at 9 PM ET/PT, Meet the Press’ David Gregory will host a panel of theologians and scientists to discuss Hawking’s thesis. Join the discussion by following @CuriosityTV on Twitter and visiting the Curiosity Facebook page.

According to Discovery News, keeping kids entertained on a long car ride is one of a parenting's greatest challenges – and sometimes good old car games just don't cut it. That's where ToyToyota comes in. Its new (free) app "Backseat Driver" taps into the iPhone's GPS functionality to mirror the route of the real car in which the player is riding – allowing players to earn points by collecting objects and reaching certain mileages.

Most of you are familiar with our networks, but did you know that we also have about 40 apps across various platforms? Over the past two weeks, we've launched three exciting new apps that you can check out on iPad, iPhone and online:

• HowStuffWorks for iPad: This free app is an extension of the popular website and includes a great interface for browsing articles, all the podcasts from Stuff Mom Never Told You to Stuff You Should Know, and more. (It's also available on iPhone.)

• Ultimate Sharks for iPad: For those who wish Shark Week were year-round, Ultimate Sharks offers a deeper dive into these mysterious creatures through video, interactive, articles and photos, and is available for $4.99 at the App Store.

• Shark Week Live: Discovery's first co-viewing app, it only works live in primetime (8-11 PM ET) and is synched with airings of Shark Week on Discovery Channel. The app is available for free on iPad, iPhone and SharkWeek.com.

Sometimes even the best recipes need a little tweaking. This year, we need your help deciding which finalist will be the 13th contestant on season 2 of Next Great Baker. We want our viewers to size up hopeful members of Carlo's Crew and vote here for the contestant they think is most likely to knock Buddy's apron off. The next season of TLC's Next Great Baker will have tougher challenges, bigger prizes and higher expectations, so if these contestants can't stand the heat, well... you know the rest.
