I'm not sure if this film is making fun of people who go through this or it's a light hearted way of showing that you don't have to stop living your life just cause you have cancer. I will need to watch it and decide for myself.
The film itself was written by the guy it is based on so I suppose he just wanted to show what his life was like and how he and his family coped with this.
