So Glasgow is to get its very own Hollister store the kid brother of Abercrombie and Fitch.
In the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre Not I may stress An Abercrombie store.....!!!
This is good news for the Shoppers of Glasgow as I really do believe that they are it's target customer, with it's rugged casual sports wear not too over priced with the infamous Abercrombie & Fitch name attached I mean who wouldn't want to wear something by such an Iconic brand although having had the opportunity to visit one of their stores in Aberdeen I noticed it to be very very dark and gloomy some may say a shoplifters paradise we can only hope otherwise, a great concept store tho with its little beach hut vibe that no doubt will definitely stand out within well lets be honest the rather boring Buchanan Galleries.

"Spartacus: Blood and Sand," which made record ratings for Starz when it premiered last Friday night, is so steamy it should be called "Spartacus: Blood and Sex." ET talks to series star and Aussie hottie Andy Whitfield about what it is like to do all the nudity and love scenes.
ET: When you auditioned, did they ask you to take your shirt off?
Andy Whitfield: Surprisingly, I wasn't. I was wearing clothes. That didn't happen, so I had a month to convince them they made the right decision.
ET: How comfortable are you with the nudity and the love scenes?
Andy Whitfield: Some of those things are easier than others. Doing that is actually easier than some other scenes. It is something that is natural. My philosophy is you have to make whatever is written on the page look real. Part of that is investing in the other person you are working with. It is a commitment thing. I never really know what is going to happen next. I just let that flow.
ET: Talk about the physical preparation for this and the training that you have gone through.
Andy Whitfield: It was pretty brutal, actually. Two days after I got the job, I flew to New Zealand, and I was in gladiator boot camp, which is a month of four hours a day, getting smashed to pieces by big stunt guys, learning how to fall, sword fighting and not eating anything. It was really hard. And then you get to the end of that first month, and then they're going to do an eight-and-a-half-month shoot where you have to stay in that shape.
ET: Did you have a stunt double?
Andy Whitfield: I did most of it myself because of the phantom camera. There is this 1,000 frames-a-second camera that creates the slow-motion stuff, so you can see it is not me if it is not me. There were some things I couldn't do for insurance reasons. But pretty much, I hit the deck every time and threw the punches and swung the swords.
ET: I understand that you have an interesting background. You came over to Australia from Wales and climbed stuff?
Andy Whitfield: I used to climb buildings, bridges, dams, whatever with ropes. I was working for a big consulting engineering firm and my job was to look at problems on structures and figure out what was going wrong.
ET: How did you make the transition from engineering to acting?
Andy Whitfield: One day I realized that I didn't have to do what I studied to do. It was a time in my life when I was unlocking parts of me … acting was just an awesome way of pushing that envelope.
ET: The series has already been picked up for the second season. When do you go back into training?
Andy Whitfield: I am just ironing out all the things that went pop in the show. Probably two months before, I will go back in the gym. I am trying to put it off as long as possible.
"Spartacus: Blood and Sand" premieres a new episode tonight at 10 p.m. on Starz.

sounds way to familiar and very 'I know what you did last summer',  'Scream', 'Nightmare on Elm Street', even  'Jeepers Creepers' and 'Halloween' where a boogeyman attacks a group of teens who share a secret in a small town. some may say the master of horror can do better ...a quick look around some of the movie blogs and you will see that it hasn't gone down to well.

Although in fairness I am only going by this Trailer and need to wait till it comes out..to give a fair review but I do like the hand at the end coming out of the wall very  creepy.....and a new take on that famous Nightmare on Elm Street scene.

Comic-Con interview: 'Spartacus' star Andy Whitfield speaks about his new 'fearlessness'

Andy Whitfield doesn't often look at "Spartacus" sites or message boards -- as is the case with many actors, he thinks reading the opinions of others can be a distraction.

But when he heard how thousands of fans were wishing him well as he fought cancer, he made an exception. In an interview conducted before the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday, he talking about reading the fans' messages of support.

"I was literally blown away," he said.

The outpouring of good will and the stories that other survivors shared online really did help him during a dark time, he said: "It really made a difference."

In the three interview clips below, he talks about what his character will be doing in the 6-episode prequel that airs early next year on Starz, and and he also talks about the show's second season. He said his character will be "bookending" the prequel: The Spartacus that we saw at the end of Season 1 will appear in the first and last episodes and will act as a bridge to the events depicted in those episodes, which are set about five years earlier and take place in Batiatus' ludus.

As for Whitfield's health, he's feeling fine. "I forget that I had cancer," he said. He's begun working out again in preparation for filming his prequel scenes in October (the rest of the prequel cast starts work in a week or so).

When he does return to work on "Spartacus," it will be with a new sense of energy and commitment, the actor said.

"I was forced to sit still," Whitfield said of his battle with cancer, which gave him "a chance to let go of things that don't necessarily serve you."

"I'm experiencing a fearlessness I never had before," he said. "And I just can't wait to see how that translates to work. You know, I could get there before, but now I think it's going to be more accessible…. It just makes you connect more and be more present, and that's kind of what acting's all about."

There are three interview clips with Whitfield below; the first two are from a one-on-one interview that took place before the "Spartacus" panel. The third is from a group discussion with the actor in the Comic-Con press room.

In these clips, he talks about Spartacus as "a beast of emotion," as a reluctant leader, the show's distinctive dialogue and the strict training and diet regimen he has to follow when he's shooting (the motivations there are "half fear, half vanity," he said with a laugh).

Great new coffee shop has recenty opened up in Glasgow located on 944 Argyle Street, 
yes I kno another one but this one in particular offers something a little bit more than the usual Starbucks/Costa chains on every corner or attatched to the latest shoping mall.
As they actaully roast the coffee beans on the premises from 100% Arabica sourced from high altitude in which can only be described as a giant red post box looking machine giving out probably the best smell you could imagine cause I haven't actually been to it yet, but give me time I will with a fully detailed review and pics.....
They also make Tea and Hot Chocolate as you may have aready guessed by the name with over 40 teas to choose from including white, green, black and herbal infusions all made on the premises. Their Artisan Chocolate production area where they will produce the best hot chocolates from the worlds finest ingredients will be available soon  oh I cant wait....as I have to admit I prefer my Hot chocolates to my coffees ....

Kris Kristopherson Flashback - A Star Is Born

Today was the perfect day to spend a few hours in front of Netflix.

Teach was downstairs working in the garage. Handsome was playing XBox and Goddess was playing with her dollhouse. Perfect time to catch a "me" movie. Not one I have to watch because of the kids or the husband, but one I WANT to see.

I am a child of the 70's and 1976 was the movie that changed what I found hot! It had been Shawn Cassidy and Donny Osmond until the day I saw A Star Is Born. Just 10 years old and after seeing Kris Kristopherson in I was hooked. The hair, the eyes, the clothes, I was smitten.

Was it just me or did anyone else have the hots for Kris?

He was like what I pictured Jesus Christ would look like in 70's clothing.

My sisters and I loved the soundtrack and listened as often as possible. We loved Barbara Streisand as much as our parents and knew every song. When I am cleaning the house or doing dishes I throw in my rendition of Queen Bee. Damn I love this song!

If you have not seen A Star is Born (not the original with Judy Garland), and you like Barbara and musicals. Give is a go.

John Norman Howard (Kris) is a reckless big time rock n' roller. His drinking and antics are getting the better of him and his career is suffering. He meets Esther one night when he drunkingly walks into a club where she and her back up singers are doing their thing. After creating drama she sneaks him out the back door.  They fall in love. He thinks she has real talent and gets her on stage during one of his shows and applauds as the audience and press love her. Her career is taking off just as his is crashing. She wants him on the road with her, her people want him to hang back and let her fly. She is special and he knows it.  He takes matters into his own hands to make sure that her career stays strong. The ending always has me sobbing.  Sometimes love just isn't enough.

Streisand is her typical 70's great! Kristopherson gives an amazing performance as a suffering artist. Great movie!  Golden Globes for both as best actor and actress and best motion picture musical.

Remember Me - Amateur Movie Review

In the summer of 2001, New York college student Tyler (Robert Pattinson, The Twilight Saga) is still feeling lost from the tragedy that has strained his relationship with his father when he meets Ally (Emilie de Ravin, TV’s “Lost”), a girl who understands his pain. The last thing Tyler’s looking for is love, but through their passionate relationship, he finds new possibilities for happiness. It’s an unforgettable story about the power of the heart, the strength of family, and the importance of treasuring every day of one’s life.

What I Can Tell You:

Rob Pattinson was in this movie and I was going to see it regardless of anything. I wanted to see if he could be someone other than Edward for me. The movie was very well done. It is a story of redemption, love, loss, and past pain.

I cried about four times during this movie. The movie has 3 different storylines. Tyler and his family, Tyler and Ally and Ally and her Father.

I think that if you are thinking this is a "Twilight fan" movie you are very mistaken. It is worth a watch. You will feel for the characters. It is a very deep, moving story of two families who have gone through loss and are dealing with it the best way they can. Each of them in their own way.

My favorite relationship is of Tyler and his sister Caroline. Tyler is a big brother, protector, father figure in Caroline's life while she appreciates him and acknowledges his faults but respects him.

Without giving away the ending, the last 10 minutes are done wonderfully. Edited without shoving the inevitable down our throats to make old wounds rip open to bleed again.  In the end, we all just want to be remembered.

Moved to Sydney, Australia after graduating the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England for Engineering. He started acting and modeling while working as an engineer and building inspector for a consulting agency.

In 1999, Andy Whitfield married Vashti Whitfield and is the mother of two wonderful children.

He attended Screenwise Film & TV School for Actors, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

He has appeared in several Australian television series, such as Opening Up, All Saints, The Strip, Packed to the Rafters and McLeod's Daughters. He gained his first prominent role in the Australian supernatural film Gabriel.

Still working his day job as an engineer, he sought a part as a Roman gladiator in ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’ and landed the lead role.

Whitfield starred in the 2010 television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which is filmed in New Zealand. He plays the part of Spartacus, a soldier condemned to fight as a gladiator and who ultimately leads a rebellion against the Romans. Whitfield also appears in the upcoming Australian thriller The Clinic starring opposite Tabrett Bethell (of Legend of the Seeker fame), set for release in 2010, which was shot in Deniliquin.

In March 2010, Whitfield was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, beginning treatment immediately in New Zealand. This delayed production of season two of Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Whitfield expects to return for a second season.

Shutter Island - Review

We recently got Netflix. It is awesome.

Last night we watched Shutter Island starring Leonardo DiCaprio

World War II soldier-turned-U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) investigates the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, but his efforts are compromised by his own troubling visions and by Dr. Cawley (Ben Kingsley). Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams, Emily Mortimer and Max von Sydow co-star in director Martin Scorsese's plot twist-filled psychological thriller set on a Massachusetts island in 1954.

Why You Should See This Movie: Leo DiCaprio and the supporting cast!

What I Can Tell You:
This isn't one of those movies you can put on and do things. You need to dedicate 2 hours and 18 minutes to it! Based on the book Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane.

I thought the movie was awesome. Leo is fantastic.Mark Ruffalo who I always appreciated is a great wing man.

The Year, 1954. Leo plays Teddy Daniels, a US marshal who is sent to Shutter Island (a hospital/prison for the criminally insane) with his new partner Chuck to investigate the disappearance of a patient Rachel Solando.

Teddy has flashbacks and dreams of his wife and the war that that haunt him both while asleep and awake.

About an hour in I turned to my husband and said I got it figured out. I did! I was right. But, the last 5 minutes of the movie had me scratching my head. It was the one line where Leo/Teddy says, "Which would be worse, to live as a monster or die as a good man?"
 
Now that the ending has been presented to me, there are many clues through the movie that nicely set up the twist. I really want to watch it again to see the twists unfold and see more than I saw the first time.


Since my reviews whether sponsored or otherwise are 100% honest, I have to admit there was about 20 minutes of the movie that I had to watch through my closed hand. It wasn't a consecutive 20 mins but a total of, where I couldn't "see" the images on the screen. Anything to do with children "not breathing" is really hard for me. I refuse to have these images imprinted on my brain so I mostly just ask my husband if it is OK to look.

Michelle Williams was awesome and disturbing at the same time.

Some memorable quotes that sat with me later were:

Chuck Aule: You okay boss?
Teddy Daniels: Yeah fine, I just ah, I just can't, can't stomach the water.

Warden: We wage war, we burn sacrifices we pillage and plunder and treat at the flesh of our brothers and why? Because God gave us violence to wage in his honor.
Teddy Daniels: I thought God gave us moral orders.
Warden: There is no moral orders as pure as this storm. There's no moral order at all. There's just this: can my violence conquer yours?

Dolores Chanal: Set me free.

I think this movie is a 5 out of 5 stars. Great thriller, mystery. Very, very well done.

The Social Network - In Theaters This October

The Social Network is a new film from director David Fincher that tells the story of Zack Zuckerman the guy that brought us facebook with the tagline "You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies" Very interesting I thought and instantly got my attention thinking it woud be a cool documentery on how facebook got started and how it has affected our lifes today.
but after watching the official trailer and reading the synopsis I was pleasntly surprised to find that it will be a full feature length movie with big name actors taking on the roles.
The teaser trailer below is great as it really helps generate interest in this movie and the story behind it of popularity,  loyalty and friendship.
