Amateur Review - Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Last month I borrowed a book from my friend Bek. She pretty much just held it out saying, "here, do you want to borrow this?" I was hesitant because well, I was reading something and we don't see each other that much. I hate borrowing and not returning right away but also because my SIL borrowed one of her books that I had at my house in December and still hasn't gotten it back to me.
We dished on the lost/will be returned eventually borrowed book and she said she would still loan it to me. I am so glad she did because it was GREAT!
I cannot wait to pick up the next installment of the series and cannot wait until the movie comes out.
Twilight was very easy to get into and to visualize the story as you read. I saw it playing out the whole time I was reading it. I actually feel that I have already seen the movie.
How do I describe this story without giving it away?
The story is about Bella the new kid at school who has an instant attraction to an Adonis named Edward. When Edward is absent from class, Bella finds herself very interested in finding out more about him and his family. When they finally reveal their mutual attraction their is more to him than meets the eye. Edward and his family are animal eating vampires. They don't kill humans for consumption although at any moment he could kill Bella. She is as drawn to him as he is too her and they try to make a go at a "normal" relationship.
When another group of vampires come to town, Edward and his family do what they can to protect Bella and the people she loves.
Stephanie Meyer spins a love story that can be enjoyed by teens and grown-ups alike. It is a fantasy story with realistic characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and wish I had my very own Edward. Someone who is intoxicated by the smell of me, can get me from point A to point B in a Mano second and someone who is so in touch with his feminine side he can hum me to sleep while holding me like a baby. Oh wait, that line was for my fetish blog. No, I don't have a fetish blog, but I should. Oh yeah, where were we? Twilight. Read it! You won't be disappointed.
If you love romance novels, vampire and werewolf stories, or if you are just looking for something different. Give it a try!
Note from Chotskies: I don't know that this book is for anyone under 16. Bella is a high schooler who becomes totally engrossed in her love for Edward and would rather die than live without him. Impressionable teen girls especially, may try to find the Edward in their own life.
For Readers 16+
4 Stars from Chotskies.
