One of my life desires to be crafy. I am awed by the folks I meet online everyday. There is some crazy talent out there and I had the opportunity to meet one of them (virtually that is).

I found Christy while shopping on Etsy this past December. I was searching for something "Twilight" and found this amazing necklace. Her shop on Etsy is called ChristyM113 and you can find it here.

The necklace is beautiful. It has Bella and Edward on one side, the other has "and so the lion fell in love with the lamb." I love it and wear it at least 4 days a week taking it off only to alternate my cross necklace.

Product Review - BabySnazz, Babylegs Kept My Baby Warm & Adorable

I received a pair of BabySNAZZ babylegs on Wednesday and Goddess hasn't taken them off yet. She has worn them to school, to gymnastics, to ballet, and under her Halloween costume. Product Review, 3, 2, 1 Penguins

Looking for something new to watch? Kid movies driving you crazy? Me too...until I received 3,2,1, Penguins.

My daughter and I have watched this movie 3 times in the past 4 days. It is a smart movie, funny for kids and adults.

3, 2, 1 Penguins is about a brother and sister (how appropriate for this house), Jason and Michelle who are traveling through outer space with 3 crazy named penguins and Kevin.

3,2,1 Penguins is part of the Qubo Channel which hosts great kid shows like: Jane and the Dragon, Veggie Tales, Zula and Marvin the Tap Dancing Horse.

The first story deals with jealousy and learning to appreciate what you have. The moral is being content and respecting the fact that the grass isn't always greener. "You have to have a satisfied heart or it will feel like you have a hole in your soul".

3,2,1 Penguins is toted as a Christian animated show but I believe that the series is a breath of fresh air to the children shows that are out there. I love that the kids pray at the end of the episode. The lesson is good, not preachy and the kids are sweet.

The second episode deals with gluttony and setting boundaries for yourself. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing. The kids and penguins learns this the hard way. If you find honey, eat just enough, too much of it and you will become sick." The moral is using self control and knowing when enough is enough.

The third episode deals with sharing. Everyone getting what they want and need by sharing the wealth. The Flamingos and the Gnomes are fighting over water rights and the penguins and children teach them how to share the resource that they all need.

Note: The children do pray at the end of each episode. They kneel at their beds with the hand folded in prayer, they also say Amen. This is the only time there is a message pertaining to religion. The prayers are not long or preachy.

Amateur Book Review - Sam Feels Better Now

Sam Feels Better Now by Jill Osborne and illustrated by Kevin Collier, is a wonderful book about a little boy who is going to a "special" therapist for the first time.

Sam and his mom head into a therapist office because Sam "was scared by something" his mother tells the therapist.

The therapist then helps Sam by having him draw pictures, (someone who is scared, something that is scary, people that Sam loves and who love him, etc.) The drawing pages are interactive. This is where the child reading the book will fill in what is pertinent to their situation.

The book is a wonderful tool to help children and their therapist or parent, deal with the child's feelings. We don't know what scared Sam because it will be different for each child.

Sam Feels Better Now is a safe, non threatening way for children to talk about their feelings and how to deal with them. A great way to empower your child to take control of their feelings and deal with them in a healthy way.

I believe this is a great book for ages 4-14 even though the book is geared toward 4-7. The characters are sweet, colorful, non-threatening with big caring eyes.

The purpose of the book is to help children who have experienced traumatic events to be able to learn how to cope, and reduce the effects of traumatic stress.

Great book for a child about to enter therapy or for a parent trying to find out more about their child. Also, a great resource for therapists.

Product Review - Cool Kid Video

I have got to tell you about the coolest kid video ever.

This week, I received the most wonderful package of videos my kids and I have ever seen.

Ever hear of Kideo? Kideo takes your child's picture and inserts it into a video making them the STAR. What kid doesn't get excited about seeing themselves on TV?????

They have 9 different titles to choose from including some of the most popular kid favorites.

• Does your son love Spider-man? Does he constantly dress up in his too small Halloween costume because he thinks he IS Spider-man? Well, now he can star AS Spider-man in his own video.

My kids were beyond happy with these DVD's. They spent the afternoon watching them. They danced, they sang along, they were beyond excited to see themselves on the videos playing with their favorite characters.

My daughter couldn't believe that she was in a video with Dora. She loved all the characters and watched it 12 times the first day she got it and when she woke up this morning it was the first thing she asked for.

I loved watching her face as she said, "they said my name mommy. They said my name!"


She sang along with them when they sang "backpack" and the birthday song.



My son loved the Spider-man video. He is Spider-man in the movie, and had to put on his costume and move along with his character on the screen. We have watched this video about 15 times in the past 2 days.
